The Kings Mill is a hidden, beautiful farmhouse with a square courtyard and a particularly rich history dating back to the French Revolution. For centuries, the mill was one of the most important grain mills in the eastern part of the Grand Duchy of Brabant. The mill achieved a production of 158 ore heads (contents of a wooden barrel) and more than surpassed all the surrounding mills. Today, centuries later, the King's Mill is not an uninspiring square farmstead, but it is a rough and distinctive ensemble of barns, stables, houses, a turbine water mill and a beautiful shaft.
The beautiful square farmhouse, adjoining shaft and watermill lost their original function as production and storage space. However, the complex, together with the adjoining building land, offers many possibilities for redevelopment. In the greenery and in the centre of the village, this seems to be an excellent opportunity for a unique collective living environment. Preferably, a number of additional public(er) functions will ensure that the site is accessible and experienced by a larger group.
