Anderlecht is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region. Situated in the south-west, this municipality with a population of 112,000 borders the municipalities of the City of Brussels, Dilbeek, Forest, Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and Saint-Gilles. Famous for its football club, which has won the Belgian Pro League on numerous occasions, Anderlecht also has a large amount of green space, such as Parc Astrid and Parc des Étangs. Close to Brussels-South railway station, the municipality is also easily accessible by car thanks to its proximity to the R0 (Brussels Ring) and via public transport with the Brussels Metro line 5, plus various trams and buses. The economy of the municipality is buoyant thanks to the presence of large businesses such as the Anderlecht abattoirs. In addition, the municipality is home to three hospitals: Hôpital Erasme, Hôpital Joseph Bracops and Clinique Sainte-Anne Saint-Remi . Anderlecht is one of the two municipalities in the Brussels-Capital Region with the lowest property prices.
