Evere is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region. Easily accessible thanks to its proximity to the E40 motorway, this municipality, which has a population of 38,000, borders Schaerbeek, the City of Brussels and Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, as well as Zaventem in Flanders. In terms of public transport, the municipality of Evere has two railway stations (Evere and Bordet), plus there are frequent tram and bus services. The municipality is divided into six districts: Paix, Conscience, Avenue Léopold III, the NATO headquarters, Brussels Cemetery and Paduwa. Since 1993, it has been home to a park nearly 2 hectares in size, complete with an artificial pond. The aim of this public park is to encourage nature conservation among children. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy three sports complexes which are home to more than 80 clubs within the municipality.
