Forest (NL: Vorst) is one of the nineteen municipalities located in the Brussels-Capital Region, and, like all the municipalities of Brussels, it is bilingual. With a population of over 48,000, this municipality borders on the municipalities of Uccle, Ixelles, Anderlecht, Saint-Gilles and Drogenbos. The municipality of Forest is famous for being divided into quite distinct districts. The north of Forest is decidedly bourgeois while the south is considered more working-class. The municipality also has a third district, which borders Drogenbos, but this is considered industrial and does not have much housing. Forest is situated near the Brussels Ring (R0-E19) but is equally accessible via public transport such as bus and tram and by train thanks to Forest-South railway station and Forest-East railway station. As is the case in most of the municipalities in the Brussels-Capital Region, property prices are relatively high.
